Even “professional” photos do not always meet the specifications for US Visas.
MEASURE YOUR PHOTOS.
BE SURE THE BACKGROUND IS WHITE.
INCORRECT PHOTOS WILL HAVE TO BE RETAKEN.
1. Take a full face, front view photo. Make sure eyes are open in the photo.
2. Photo must show a full front view; from the top of the hair to the neck. Height of head should measure 1 inch to 1-3/8 inches (25mm to 35mm).
3. Center the head within the picture. Make sure the head is not cut off on either side.
4. Make sure eye height is between 1-1/8 inches to 1-3/8inches (28mm to 35mm) from bottom of photo.
5. Pictures should be taken against a plain white or off-white background.
6. Pay attention to the lighting of the photo. Avoid distracting shadows on the face or background.
7. Take photos with natural expressions; not just smiling.
8. Outer measurements of several photos must be 2 inches by 2 inches. (US Passport photo size).
